At Bottega Veneta, Redken Creative Consultant Guido went for a look that was slightly androgynous, yet sexy at the same time. "The inspiration was an '80s take on a classic '40s Hollywood look," Guido says. Meanwhile, makeup artists paired a smoky eye with a blood-red shade of lipstick. A mouth this strong isn't for everyone, but there's no disputing the glamour quotient.

Oil Me Up: An Inside Look at the Hottest New Ingredients

Salons, clients and beauty editors have been raving about the newest hype to hit the styler/finisher/treatment category: Oils. Prior to experimenting with hair oils, I absolutely feared the word; why would I want to put oil in my hair; won’t it make it look greasy? Now that I’ve tried oils, I can’t go back. Rubbing a small amount of oil into my hair before styling results in shiny, healthy, non-greasy hair that has a fantastic, fresh scent .So what makes the results so dramatic? What is all the hype about? Here’s an inside look at the ingredients that make all the difference.
For thousands of years, Australian aborigines have consumed macadamia nuts for their high nutritional value and health-promoting benefits. Oil extracted from macademia nuts is a super-rich concentration of fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins. It smoothes and coats the hair shaft, improving elasticity and strength, leaving hair nourished and revitalized.  Argan oil is produced from the kernels of the argan tree. Argan trees grow only in a few areas, such as Southwest Morocco, and, according to manufacturers, is pretty difficult to obtain. The oil brings shine and softness to dry hair that has been damaged by chemical services or environmental factors.  Acai oil is obtained from berries that have the highest oxygen radical absorbance capacity. It is known to fight free radicals and combat the aging process. Flaxseed oil is naturally rich in Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids. The oil promotes a healthy scalp and smooth, shiny hair.

Fall/Winter trend this year brings a new level of visual awareness. "Shape in shape" is the buzz with an emphasis on amplified textures and color that blends harmony and contrast.

new trends from the Premiere Show in Orlando

Kim Vo stylist for Jessica Sarah Parker, Terri Hatcher, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson. I got the opportunity to hear his take on the latest colour/hair trends.

Hair is going shorter, real short think Twiggy

The bob is always a classic look, but the Victoria Beckham bob is waning, yes it is true, good bye bob

More layers, beautiful color, layered color, nothing obvious,

panels of  contrasting color peaking out from underneath hair, hair is darker at the roots, Kim Vo calls it smudging or shadowing

balayage is still a  strong trend, it means to sweep in french, subtle hi lites that do not start from the part, but look like hi lites from the sun, the hi lites look like they are actually growing out

Always in vogue, brunettes will get simple in 2009. Make sure you have your brunette hair look as natural as possible. 2009 is not about black, bright or stripy highlights, sorry.

Think the classic brunette shade. However, absence of highlights doesn’t mean you can’t improve the color by adding darker shades or lighter panels hidden,to make it look deep and carefully groomed.

Red color rocks this year. It’s a hot color trend, though you must be careful with it as it’s not always flattering. Warm shades of red copper and cool shades of red violet are huge in 2009. Golden highlights on the top are very fun and very stylish.

If you like to be blonde, 2009 is a great year to be really really blonde, lots of platinum and nordic blonde looks

Blonde color is very strong in 2009. If you have a fair skin, you’re sure to look vamp. But be careful with make up and outfits you wear in order not to look glum and tired. Generally, black is what you need to impress and turn heads anywhere you go!

Get your color, think about your style, and get your perfect look in 2009! Remember you’re beautiful, hot and head-to-toe perfect! As for hair color, you can always change it if you want. Hair color is just another accessory you have, make sure you wear it right!

Trend #1: Brunettes
“Brunettes will go to a whole new level this fall/winter with an overall cooler base. Think Fergie’s shade; her lighter highlights really show through her dark, chestnut base making her haircolor look so flawless and effortless,” says Cunningham.

Trend #2:  Blondes
“Blondes will be blonde this fall – think Drew Barrymore’s cool, nearly platinum blonde shade for this inspiration

Trend #3:  Redheads
“I brought Lindsay Lohan back to her original roots as a true redhead,” says Cunningham. “This fall/winter, redheads will be more sophisticated, and playful with their beautiful shade,  with deep red tones and a few cool, blonde highlights throughout to enhance the red even more.”
